i need your help my friends :).want buy a new headset,now i have read 100 forum postets and everbody says every headset ist bad :).
first time i want buy the RAZER BARRACUDA HP-1,but i read all commentary at amazone and all was bad.
SpeedLink Medusa 5.1 Pro Gamer is an other alternative,but the commentary not so good too.

I recently got these I HATE wires so I went out and researched some wireless headsets. Very clear and quality is excellent. Can feel a little heavy after a 5 hour gaming session

The only 2 things I'd have to complain about is...
1. It takes about 12 hours to fully charge. Not a huge thing. Just put them on charge when you go to bed. However, if the battery runs out while you are gaming, forget about it. You can't speed charge them. You will need to charge them for a good few hours to get another couple of hours use out of them
2. No microphone built in. Have to buy a seperate.

I had a 7.1 crative speaker setup but it's never a good time to use them with others in the house. My last headset was a "rumble" with Microphone built in but I don't think it was 5.1, just normal stereo.

Alas, I dragged it by it's cable one time to many and it broke on me. Got the one above about 3 or 4 months ago. I only miss the built in Microphone. Everything else I love about it.

I had the Medusa 5.1.

The sound isn't perfect if you compare it to a sennheiser of 200,-, but for gaming its perfect.

The micriphone is great, the surround effects arent perfect, but thats hard with a headset anyway.
Even after gaming 12 hrs, the headset doesnt annoy your head or ears (cuz some possible pressure of the construction or painful foam on the ear-shells).

I now use a Sennheiser and a stand alone microphone (http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD570-Traditional-Over-Ear-Headphones/dp/B00004SD88)

Its not Surround, but you dont really need.

If you can buy the Medusa, Do it. The moment I have money, I will buy one again.
Ps: try to buy one with normal stereo jacks, not USB. USB drains the power and slows down the pc. The onboard audiocard already uses energy, so why not use that?

I have a medusa 5.1, if you have an X-fi soundcard steer clear of them because the bass in the rears speakers is non existant however they do still give you good positional sound, the no bas bug only seems to affect games and not movies or music for some reason.
The medusa are a little big for my head I dont hava 2 foot head you see.
