I have Lag, all the time! Lately I'm lagging all the time in ctf, nomatter what I'm doing.

Fps and ping are fine. I tryed to ajust the rates, but it didn't change anything. These "lags" are present all the time, the whole game feels slow, but fps is >60. It feels like everything is slightly delayed. I can't even bhop properly anymore. I don't get over 550 most of the time and all few footsteps the player doesn't jump when I hit space. Duck jump or walljump is laggy too. You can't really see any laggs, but everything is strange. On bright maps, when looking at the floor or something, you can see the mini lags, it seem like the textures are going back and forth (almost unnoticable, but it shows the lagg). I have got this now for almost a week. Either my brain starts to die or something is bad on my PC.

BTW: I reinstalled windows and steam a few weeks ago.

What's your packet loss like?

check your settings with other players on the C$W serv (only! since you're admin there) and use:
ma_rates

In my case the USB was one of the problems, cuz I used mouse + USB headset = too much data to process for my ole puter. Now Im using the onboard sound and changed USB port. Still I got lag on the C$W serv, but smaller.
Yesterday evening I was alone with Space and then the lag isn't that bad. The more players, the more worse the lag.

What does: net_graph 2 tell you? In my case when I die or there is a lot of action, the graphics show spikes of more than 700. This means there's a bottleneck somewhere.

Playing alone on a serv doesnt have this prb that much but just a little. Weird, cuz when I play the usual HL2 game, no weird lags to see. When I create my own server, there is the same kind of laggy shit going on.. WTH is going on.. right?

I also have the -heapsize option turned on, cuz they say when internal memory = > 1024 then heapsize 512884 (or so) is great. I dont see any improvement, so I will take that off again to see what is going on.

My rates are fine, as i said. Changing them makes it only worse for me. I only have the keyboard working on the USB, the rest of the USB devices are off. I get the lagg on all servers. Like in my first post, it isn't like a normal lag, but everything feels slow and delayed, i have (almost) no lagg spikes.

So I guess the network isnt the prb. The puter itselves have to be it then. What if you lower the resolution, aa, af etc etc? Do you feel any difference?

Defragmented the puter? Puter not overheated? New, but worse driver installed?

Well.. your puter doesnt seem to be the prb, it's strong enough, stronger than mine for sure

My advice would be: try to isolate the prb. See if its network or not, see if its harddisks or not, see if its viddrivers or not (try the orginal for example).
Something weird maybe, but no virus / trojan??

How does the game feel when you create your own server on your CTF pc?

Same here that's why i thought that it was my graphiccard that was giving me the lag butt now that u say that u have the same kind of problem i'm sure that it wasnt my vidcard its an old 1 butt still does what it have's 2 do

odd. i don't have any lag. maybe the source of the problem is on valve's side and not everyone of the players is affected like the "no steam logon" error that kicks people out of the server for no reason, which has been around for a week or two now..

it isnt the puter as ypu put it i have exact pronblem too and as g unit says, it isnt a normal lag it kind of is like low FPS but fps
are fine look...

yep that's treu keefy that's what i also find out about the fps they are fine 2 play with butt what the fuck can it be then that's give us this damn lag

Did you check the servers tick rate, FPS settings and.. your own? Could you get rid of your and our prb?

It isn't server specific, it's on every server the same.
