opera is a great browser, only had once or twice problems loading a page
changed back to FF because i love plugins

as for having a good system, i support portable apps
half my system is running on portable application (firefox, chat clients, burning progs, ftp clients, mail, archiving.. etc...)
it doesn´t mess up you system with registry, you newer have to backup before formatting (got everything on a secend partition) etc.

if anyone is interested i can post all apps that are portable, you´ll learn to love it

You have iTunes portableapp?

Apple stuff always freaked me out with the sneaky installs.

Send me some links, bro. I'll look into them.

just google for " applicationX portable" or visit portableapps.com

for itunes, or licensed software search for e.g. " itunes thinstall"
nothing illegal there, you are just downloading an altered application

thinstall is a software checking your system before and after the installation and making a portable application out of the stuff you just installed

for making firefox-portable you default browser, google for "DefaultMyFFP"

Here's a tip to speed-up your Firefox (any version and OS).

Type about:config in the address bar

Find the following keys

Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” a “true”

Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to a value of about 30. This will increase the request that Firefox makes to a site, be aware of your bandwith for other computers using the same connection.

Right click where ever you want to and choose “New -> Integer”. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and then set it “0”.
