I will be again on a LAN-Party at a local friends house for 3 days from 30th January - 1th February.
We will be online with TF2 quite often but of course hang around with those LAN Guys and Girls (ZisterMylinder and my gf 4 example) on the servers.
So plz don't wonder if i do not join u C$W guys on any server you are playing.
If there is a training on sunday evening (I hope there is !) i will be ready steady 4 that !

The week after i am going into the snow from the 6th to the 8th February for three days. Won't be online at all. Sunday evening (8th) ready for training/match.

This is indeed an interesting idea Smile
We've got 4 girls playing there (14 people alltogether).

But the deal is, if i YOU loose, I'll take my clothes off and you have to watch it !

I could ask the others to join the private server, but many of those guys just rarely play TF2 and i dunno if they have that much fun to get kicked ass by u guys Smile
Any experience with 14 players playing online over a ~16MBit (800kbit up) DSL Line ?

I think Ranger is right.
It'd be touch and go with 14 people. The recommended minimum upload speed for a first-person shooter online is 64Kbit per person per second (I'm not sure how this figure compares with TF2 average but it's probably not far off, if anything it'd probably be more than TF2 as valve are pretty good at reducing unnecessary traffic). Ergo, basic mathematics tells me that 64x14=896 so you'll be 96Kbit/s under the recommendation.
Obviously some people are going to be transferring more, and some less as, depending on how many models/entities etc are renderred on screen at any one time, the more acknowledgements, player coordinates, collision detection data etc has to be sent at once or retransmittal of lost packets. So some will be using less than 64Kbit and some will be more. Just have to hope that the ones using less out-weigh the ones using more.

This doesn't take into consideration other background uploads such as Windows Update, Steam, Automatic software updates etc etc so I think you may struggle. Maybe you should have real life TF2 (melee only) and the top 6 get to play online? I'm sure a baseball bat, shovel, fire axe, machette, glass bottle and flick-knife wouldn't be too hard to acquire. If there's an overweight lady/gentleman available, they could use their fists. I think a bonesaw might take a bit of effort to locate...
But with 6 people you'd only need 384Kbit upspeed.... PLENTY!! You'd even have 416Kbit left for leeching porn torrents, although unless you've got a well-configured QoS router I think torrents get prioritised to the max and suck up all available bandwidth anyway.
Just buy your porn DVDs at the XxX shops and stop being so stingy!

Well old topic I know but would reducing th cl_cmdrate help reduce the upload data per person?
