it's really annoying imo. all you need to defend is a team full of demos as they can shoot their stuff around the corner without ever exposing themself. i hope the soldier gets the extra weapon to somehow level it out between those two classes.

A demo wo can throw nades in your face is much stronger.
-Health:
Soldier = 200
Demo = 175
-Weapons:
Soldier: 4 rockets and 6 shotgun shots
Demo: 4 nades and 8 stickies (3 stickies and the soldier is dead)
-Jump damage:
Soldier: 30 - 50
Demoman: 30 -50
-Walk speed:
Soldier: 240
Demo: 280
Conclusion: The only advantage a soldier really has is the direct hits he can place: straight forward rockets and shotgun hits. So if a demoman can place 4 direct nade hits and is very good in placing stickies, I'd say the demoman is the stronger class

plus the reloading rate of the demo is a lot faster. i get out of rockets just too often and once you're in a fight and screwed up your rocket counting and reloading you're quite done for.
anyhow if you're in close combat, the soldier is much more effective.
